Meet the Team

  • Dr. Marilyn Laken

One of my biggest joys in life is to address problems. I love designing courses that organize information in a way that fosters understanding and motivates people to apply that knowledge, or organizing a research project that examines how we can provide better health care, or write a book that might help older people and their families cope with some of the problems of aging.

My educational background as a nurse and a biological anthropologist, along with over 50 years of clinical and academic experience, provide the background for this podcast. I view these podcasts from the perspective of an anthropologist, taking delight in discovering the many differences among us and how those differences can provide insight and meaning for all of us. Sharing information that is “scientific” is important, but only within the context of the lives of real people. I am excited about including the voices of people whose wisdom can help us all as we age.

  • Marie Sola

I’m a multi-faceted professional with extensive experience in media, sales and marketing, community engagement, non-profit partnerships, events, public awareness campaigns, and content creation. My career has led me around the world and to interesting work that has built upon itself.

I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart and enjoy nothing more than sinking my teeth into a project that can be grown from the ground up.

I’m excited to be working with Marilyn and Sarah as we build a platform of research-based content, knowledge, and experiences to redefine what it means to get older. Life is a gift, no matter what age you are. I for one plan to enjoy each and every day of this adventure on my own terms.

  • Sarah Stacey

I’m an audio producer and storyteller who has worked on podcasts and radio documentaries for major broadcasters, non-profits and other clients around the world. My work has been recognised for creative excellence at international awards ceremonies, and I also have experience in training and mentoring others.

I have a passion for finding compelling stories and amplifying the voices of those we don’t get to hear often enough. I see this project as an opportunity to reach and connect with an underserved audience, providing meaningful content that will resonate with people as they navigate a new stage of their lives. This podcast offers something unique, and I’m thrilled to be making it happen as part of a team of women spanning three generations. I’m also looking forward to learning as much as possible along the way and arming myself with knowledge that will help me continue to grow as a producer.
